The Best Foods to Eat to Lose Weight with

All of us may want to shed a pound or two, gaining a physical shape we could be proud of. Unfortunately, many people consider that the best way to lose weight is to stop eating, or to eat very small quantities of certain foods. Such an approach is a wrong approach, because you are harming your organism through starvation. First of all, you will experience a lack of energy, a constant feeling of exhaustion, headaches, stomach pains and dizziness, if you don’t eat sufficient.

Even the easiest task will seem a huge burden, not to mention that you will be incapable of working out physically. Another negative effect would be the total failure of such a diet once you stop it. Because you deprived your body from proper food, it will immediately start making fat deposits once you will start eating a bit more consistent, so any weight you may have lost through this harsh method will go right back on your body, and you may gain even more weight.

Having these in mind, a diet should be a smart one, containing healthy and diverse foods, a number of healthy meals every day and plenty of water, freshly prepared juices and unsweetened herbal teas. You have to be committed to this process, also being aware that wonders will not happen overnight. A steady and consistent weight loss, even if it is not that impressive, will last longer and be healthier for your body.

Everything is wrong about this statement, because recent studies showed that eggs have nothing to do with bad cholesterol or strokes. In fact, they are highly nutritious, providing a high amount of proteins and healthy fats, chasing your hunger away with very little calories. You don’t need to eat a lot of eggs to feel full, but they will provide a great amount of energy for a long period. Thus, after you eat them, they turn into a gel, expanding their shape in your stomach and keeping you hunger-free for a longer time. So they are amazing when it comes to reducing appetite and because of their nutritional value, making them a great ally for losing weight.

  1. Eating healthy foods is the way to go. The gut needs to be trained to eat this way, I know the discipline required to eat this way is tough to follow. The outline you have here of different foods is great, although some eat for convenience sake rather than health. Convenience eating leads to processed eating, which leads to gaining weight. With this type of awareness being raised, I hope am sure you will be able to help many people.

    1. Yes, Jaci. People really need discipline with food and hopefully with my article I have managed to give some good value that anyone can put a healthy and tasty meal together without the feel of guilt afterwords. Thank you

  2. You have alot of great information here. It is so true that the key to loosing weight is not eating less, but eating better. Thank you for sharing, this is a great resource for anyone who wants to eat healthier.

    1. Hi Chris, Thank you for your comment. Yes, when it comes to dieting its definitely more important what you eat and people need to understand that to starve them self will only bring the opposite results in the future as their body will just fight back with an jojo effect. I am glad you found my article helpful. Thank you

  3. Great list of foods. I was surprised to see eggs on the list. I generally stay away from eggs when I am dieting, so I am glad to see them on your list. I am unfamiliar with what Chia seeds are. Can you give me a little info on them? Are they easy to purchase?

    1. Chia seeds are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. They are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients even for its size people would have never thought so. You can get them in any health store and ad them to your diet. Hope this helped to answer your question. Eggs are very important soars of protein so a big Yes to eggs when it comes to losing weight.

    1. Hello Matt,

Thank you for a great point. Yes, lean meat is definitely a good way for losing weight and build muscle but I was focusing more on a foods that people might think its not that healthy for them like (eggs because of cholesterol or Chia seeds) that many people would not even think about adding to their meals on daily basis.

  4. How true it is to not starve yourself! Unfortunately, many people tend to do this and its so unhealthy and only hurts the body. I’m glad you pointed this out. Better to eat smaller portions and choose which foods to eat!
Thanks for the post, its a great reminder!

    1. Hi Andrea,

Yes, Its definitely healthier to eat more often and smaller portions instead of starving yourself as starvation will not only mess with your health and digestion but also can resolve into putting more weight on ones you start eating normally again. Glad my post was a great remainder.

  5. Thanks for this great article!I must admit I used to think the best way to lose weight is to eat VERY little and workout like a MMA fighter! This article gives me great information that I can use.A quick question, how many eggs am I allowed to eat in a day?Beans seem to have a high carb content and I’m trying to cut down on my carb intake-should I be worried?

    1. Hi, thank you for your question as I believe many people might ask themselves the same question. The fact is that High-Egg Diet Has No Effect on Cholesterol Levels, Even for People With Type 2 Diabetes. Studies show that it is safe to eat up to 12 eggs a week and when it comes to beans, if you consume them in moderate amount is will never slow down your weight loss goals so no worries there :). Thank you

  6. A great read. I have this issue of being over weight. Although i have lost 15 pounds during last year or so but the tummy didn’t shrink. lol. I don’t feel comfortable with having a small tummy.

What diet you think should be suitable for me? let me mention that i have a problem of high uric acid and i cannot regularly eat beans, tuna, red meat.

    1. Hi Bilal,

Well done with the weight loss and when it comes to the tummy issue, I would advice an exercise to strengthen the muscles in your stomach area to shrink your tummy. You also mentioned you cant eat beans, tuna or red meat so try turkey, chicken and salads to achieve your goal sooner. All the best.

  7. I agree with most of the list. Two thumbs up for chia seeds. I use them all the time.

My problem is with fruits. Fruits may have vitamins, but other foods (vegetables, dairy..) have them as well. The problem with fruit is the high sugar content. I would limit them. Sugar is sugar whether from fruit or any other source.

    1. That is very true Dave. Fruits are very high in sugar but everything with limits shouldn’t harm anyone. Thank you for your comment
